This week was the first of Snowbasin Resort’s summer Movies on the Mountain events with the viewing of Finding Dory!
Families of all ages, shapes and sizes showed up for a cinematic experience, set high in the Wasatch Mountains. After weeks with temperatures in the mid to high 90s down in the Salt Lake Valley, the cool night air was nothing short of refreshing for my family.
The movie night began with gourmet food from Earl's Lodge. Guests may purchase dinner, desserts and movie snacks, choosing from a variety of burgers, chicken strips, pizza, and other grill items.
For those families looking for more economic menu items to feed their whole family, I suggest you check out these appetite quenching options:
Earth Stone Wood Fired Pizza Oven
Slice - $5
Whole 16” Pizza - $26
Family Special of the Week $65
Feeds up to four people and includes entrée, side dish, cookies, sodas, and a voucher for a large popcorn.
The Snowbasin bakery even made “Finding Dory” specific treats just for the evening that we assuredly sampled!
The Snowbasin gift shop inside the Grizzly Center was open, so we might pick up a few fun t-shirts commemorating our summer fun.
My daughter flocked to the grassy area, enjoying a good roll down the hill, digging in the sand, and playing the lawn games. Adults curled up on blankets or gathered around the table enjoying a good beer and friendly conversation before the movie began at dusk.
Finding Dory was the perfect way to kick off our summer of fun and Snowbasin made it a truly delightful viewing experience, with a large screen and loud enough speakers for all to hear.
If you are looking for an excellent way to escape the heat and enjoy the summer evenings in the mountains, come up to Snowbasin for Movies on the Mountains. And don't forget to bring your pooch!
